I've been meaning to write for a while, but generally haven't
remembered to when I've had the time. Somewhere along the way between
moving from the post office machine and incorporation to my Mail/inbox
file, header lines that are more than 128 characters long get broken.
By broken, I mean a newline is inserted after the 128th character and
the rest of the original line is then made into its own line. It's
the Received: lines that get chopped up, and then VM gets confused as
to what is and isn't a header line. The old version of VM (5.33beta)
didn't have a problem with lines that were longer than 128 characters
(i.e., the Received: lines don't have a newline character in them),
but I think the way that 5.33 in the SIPB locker gets mail from the PO
machines is somewhat different from the way that 5.95 does. I can
manually fix the header either from VM (vm-edit-message) or by
editting the whole mail folder in emacs, but if someone could figure
out why the long lines are getting broken & fix it, I'd really
appreciate it. Thanks a lot!!
