Hi,
I would like to report a repeatable bug in xdvi using the
-nodps option.
I've been using xdvi with the -nodps option for awhile.
Recently, I've noticed that the display cuts off some
of my figures. The amount of cut-off depends on the shrink
factor. The figures are intact if I start xdvi using a
shrink factor of 8 or higher. (shrink factor 8 allows me
to see the whole page at once).
However, the figures get cut-off again if I change
the shrink factor to a smaller value. The figures remained
cut-off after I change the shrink factor back to 8.
Also, the amount of cut-off increases with decreasing
shrink factor. I'm using a Sparc5.
The reason I'm using the -nodps option is because the
regular xdvi sometimes crashes when loading postscript
files. I reported this a while back, and was told to
use the -nodps option to avoid the problem, or use
a workstation that is not a SUN.
Please let me know if the previous xdvi crash bug has
been fixed or not. Otherwise, I'll just keep using xdvi
-nodps with shrink factor 8 for now.
