project.sipbsrc locker was at 170meg and 100% today --
per my request it was upped to 190meg.
I'd like to split it up into smaller volumes.
The vast bulk is in /afs/sipb/project/sipbsrc/src, and is
architecture independant.
If you have build-related cruft that shouldn't be there, please
clean it up.
It is unfortunate that there is no obviously good way to split this
sort of volume.
Some ways to split the load would be:
1) Subdivide the tree into category-based
subdirectories, eg: news/, editors/, etc.
2) Use alphabetical-based subdirs. For instance,
if we were to shoot for 3 chunks:
a-k/ 57850k
l-t/ 46350k
u-z/ 55226k
3) Punt.
Greg thinks that 200meg is a manageable size; I'm relucatant to accept
that, but I'm not an AFS maintainer.
I'd be inclined to use 2) and not use compatibility symlinks.
Any opinions?
