I had always known that something like this was necessary, but had never
learned the method of invocation. I'd like to record these instructions in
some public place more obvious than the bug-sipb discuss meeting, probably a
file. Any suggestions? Something like /mit/sipb/README.admin seems obvious
enough but perhaps a little *too* public.

Also, in an effort to make sure I grokked yoav's instructions, let me
rephrase them:

------

After installing manpages, follow these commands, where '[manpath]' is, in
this case, '/afs/.sipb.mit.edu/project/sipb/man' :

Log in on a sun, and run
	/usr/sbin/catman -w -M [manpath]

Log in on an rs6k box and run
	/usr/lib/makewhatis [manpath]

After doing that,
	(cd [manpath] ; ln -s whatis whatis.db)

------
