Well, i consider this a bug, some people might consider it a feature.
When you have a file URL of the form file:/path/to/file/name, Mosaic
should not try to copy this file to a tempfile and then parse it;
Mosaic should parse the file in-place. For example, it might be the
case that this file is REALLY HUGE (on the order of gigabytes), and
you might not have this amount of space locally to keep a cached
version.
In particular, if a file URL is of a known type (i.e., one of the
types in .mime.types), Mosaic should fork the MIME-viewer with the
original filename in the URL.
