I can't think of a single good reason to remove the local help
files, except perhaps in the case that you really want to strand
users without help. If this is indeed a goal, perhaps we should
discuss it. :-)
If you think the documnetation is out of date, then get an updated
copy. Saying `if NCSA goes down... tough' is completely
unacceptible. Saying that the documnetation is pointless is patently
false. What should really happen is that someone should get updates
documnetation, modify it to reflect local changes, and make it the
default for the _Help_ menu; this should be trivial to do at compile time.
As for using absolute AFS paths, I'm not sure I can object strongly enough.
If you do this things will break and people won't understand why. If you
think Mosaic takes too long to start up, then perhaps you should (make it not
use Motif. :-) find a way to make the attaches faster.
