We tried here to reproduce your problems, but were not able to. Do you think
you could provide us with specific descriptions of the situation when things
failed (ie type of machine you are connecting from, how you are getting to the
dialup, native software being used. load on the dialup, etc)
There have been intermittent problems with zmodem software and the dialups for
years now, maybe if we put our heads together we can solve them once and for
all.

Hi,
Several of our clients here on the Micro Help Line have been having trouble
sending files via zmodem to Athena. They can do it using Kermit, but
that's much slower. We have duplicated the problem here several times, as
well.
From what I hear, it's a server overload problem. We've given this info to
our clients, but they're still wondering what has changed -- it used to
work fine in the past. Is there any more specific information we can pass
on to them?
