1) JIK, you are not master of the sipb filesystem. It is maintained
by the SIPB as a whole. You do _not_ have a license to arbitrarily
kill programs, 00JIK.
2) As I have stated before (and Ted seems to concur) I do not remember
receiving a message asking about deleting man. Again this does not
mean that you didn't send it, just that a fair number of people
apparently didn't see it or read it thoroughly enough.
3) In all cases, major changes to programs in the SIPB filesystem
should be discussed among at least some of the interested parties with
backwards compatibility being a strong issue. I suggest everyone read
mail to bug-sipb a little more carefully in the future. I don't
particularly care about new programs being added, but we don't really
want either X or Athena disease in randomly changing existing
functionality without telling people. Remember that a _lot_ of people
use SIPB software.
With this in mind, please leave the current man program in place (the
one that has no message but does do the "right thing" to the user's
MANPATH) until we have had a chance to resolve this issue. This will
minimize brain-damage while maximizing backwards compatibility.
/usr/sipb is not the place for a "gsipbbin" war.
