   I did not arbitrarily delete it.  I asked several weeks ago if there
   was any reason to keep it around.  Since the SIPB is always so eager
   to help, I assume that anyone who had such a reason would have gladly
   offered it.  None were offered.

Sorry, I don't remember any such message about "man".  That doesn't mean
that you didn't send it; just that I don't remember it seeing it.

Nevertheless, if it bothered you so much, you should have fixed it,
instead of deleting it.  Does the phrase "Backwards compatibility" mean
anything to you?  Clearly it means nothing to the X consortium, but that
doesn't means you should follow its example.  Too much toolbox/Xresource
hacking, I think.
