1) Make sure your terminal settings are correct (8 data bits, 1 stop
bit, no parity).
2) Make sure you use the "terminal download" command at the pasta
prompt before connecting to the dialup machine. This will prevent you
from being able to return to the pasta prompt without logging out of
the dialup machine (i.e., you can't use the pasta escape sequence to
get back to the pasta prompt), but will also prevent the pasta machine
from interfering with the download, which it may be doing.
Other than that, I don't know what to tell you.
