Thanks, Jonathan. I realize that LaTex and dvips are complex
programs and that it could require a lot of ugly investigation to fix
this problem. If I knew how, I would love to help you, but I have
tried everything and don't understand the font system.
I have a suggestion: installations of dvips at other networks could
be examined. I know that the dvips at the AI lab manages to print all
built-in fonts in the Apple II laser-jets, using documentstyle options
from Latex. A useful person to talk to might be Mark Torrance,
torrance@ai.mit.edu, as he has installed dvips and lots of fonts there.
