Hi!
I am currently trying to finish my thesis using latex. My difficulties
involve including postscript files that I made last fall at a company.
For some reason, dvi2ps and your older version of dvips are not
robust enough to include these properly. (My error message states
problems with invalidrestore.)
In order to resolve this problem, I have spent considerable time with
Athena consultant Tom Palka. We wrote to the program creator Tom
Rokicki at Stanford who ran the program and had it work fine with the
latest programs. Consequently, we tried the media lab computer
network (Tom has an account) which has the latest version. Similarly,
the latest version of dvips that they had worked fine.
Therefore, I was desparately hoping that sipb would install the new
version of dvips. It would save me a *lot* of cut-and-paste time.
Furthermore, you probably eventually need to do it anyway.
