I've restarted the sshd's on all the dialups, which should clear this
problem (at least for new sessions); the exact cause is unclear to me,
but it seems to be some resource limit problem that started after the
recent afs server mishap. The sshd's have all been syslogging "Too many
open files" starting around then.
