Hello,

Thank you for your bug report regarding the spell check function.
I've looked into it, and the root of the problem appears to be
that the program /usr/bin/spell on the dialup you were using is
broken.  I'm copying this mail to the people that maintain the
dialups, so that they can look into the issue.


Bug-dialup:  department-of-alchemy has a broken /usr/bin/spell

Compare:
  biohazard-cafe{103}$ echo good badd | /usr/bin/spell
  badd

  department-of-alchemy{104}$ echo good badd | /usr/bin/spell
  /usr/bin/spell[100]: bad file unit number
  /usr/bin/spell[100]: bad file unit number
  /usr/bin/spell[100]: bad file unit number
  /usr/bin/spell[100]: bad file unit number
