I have a .dvi file which when I view using xdvi causes errors to be
printed every time it tries to display certain character numbers
(because of font substitution...)

perhaps it could only warn me once per font/character?

[The errors are like:
Character 208 not defined in font cmr10
Character 174 not defined in font cmr10
but with no newlines, so they just scroll horiz & vert on my window...]
