It's impossible to get the geometry of xrn right for every display
type, because different people use different window managers with
different types of title bars that take up different amounts of space
on each side of the xrn window.
The size we've got it at now is already so small that it's too small
on any display but the IBM, and we've got it there so it fits on the
IBM screen if there are no title bars.
If you want it to be smaller yet, I suggest you put a
"xrn.geometry:" line in your .Xresources file to specify the geometry
you want. See the man page for X (type "man X") if you don't know
about how to specify geometries.

This is not a "gripe" per se -- just something you probably already
know but I thought I'd mention anyway: the default size of the xrn
window is longer than the screen on IBM RT athena workstations, so
one has to reset the size everytime one runs xrn on an RT. It would
be useful if either a) the default size were just made smaller all
around, or b) xrn could detect when it is being run on an RT
workstation and adjust its height accordingly. As it is, the lower
row of "buttons" can't be reached on RT's without rescaling.
