I have installed a portmap on portnoy that syslogs error conditions
and syslogs when it has memory problems. The old version printed
errors to stderr, which is pretty stupid considering that right before
doing that, it disassociates itself from the tty, and that people
usually restart it and log out so its stderr goes into a black hole.
I'll keep an eye on the syslogs; perhaps this will tell us what the
problem is.
