I happily got into a discussion of Mass road numbers. I typed the message as
I do in xmh, that is, without returns at the end of each line. As I typed
the words seemed to wrap properly. (fyi my .emacs file, which may or may not
be relevant, switches auto-fill on, and my EDITOR envariable points to xedit,
which wraps automatically.) The I received this note from someone at osf:
Each paragraph of your mail came out as one line, and there is
apparently something between you and here which truncates lines to 505
characters.
I then went back to read my own articles. The same problem appears, only xrn
does its best to wrap the long lines around.
I assume I should simply assume no auto-fill and use returns. Is there a way
to fix this so that lines wrap in transmission the way they do on the screen?
