The user who was complaining about bibtex (Ludwig C Nitsche
<lcnitsch>) finally got in touch with me... it turns out that the
problems he was having were due to not closing the braces and/or
closed quotes on some bibliography entries, and thus citations
couldn't find them. bibtex correctly gave an error on the three files
involved (unexpected end of file...) and fixing the typos (and showing
him C-M-N and C-N-P ({for,back}ward-sexp)) solved the problem, or at
least seemed to. He also had a problem with not being able to run
/mit/sipb/vaxbin/latex on an RT (easily corrected, he just was
unfamiliar with the convention.) So, if you have heard about the
problem (I tried to get punt off to someone else when I first saw it)
don't worry about it. Simple user error.
