The startup message stated that only people using gaim for the purpose
of accessing AIM (e.g. AOL Instant Messenger) should switch to using
the TOC protocol. This does not affect people using gaim for accessing
other instant messenging systems (e.g. MSN, yahoo, jabber, etc.)

You probably got those messages when trying to change your MSN account
to use TOC. Switching the protocol back to MSN should fix it. If it
doesn't, let me know.
