I built Barnowl for fun on Cygwin a year or two back. I got past this=20
(possibly by switching from ncursesw to ncurses?), but then got stuck with=
=20
two other dependencies that I didn't have on Cygwin, namely libzephyr and=
=20
(a new enough?) libperl. Without either of these, Barnowl is way less fun=
=20
than you'd hope.
If you really wanted to do this, I'd start by trying to build the Zephyr=20
distribution from upstream on Cygwin, and seeing what happens. I remember=
=20
Zephyr not obviously building on MSVC++, but it might work on Cygwin. I'm=
=20
not sure what UNIX-specific assumptions it has.
I may have the build log/config.status from my Barnowl on Cygwin=20
experiment on a backup of the partition I did this work on; I could look=20
for this if you really really want.
