kretch,
The owl hacker community appears to have achieved some critical mass
earlier this week. We've taken owl from cvs and dropped it into an svn
repository where we can hack on it together, incorporate the patches on
bugzilla, and extend its functionality in new and interesting ways.
We would like to collaborate on owl, but from our point of view owl
development appears to have stagnated. There are several patches sitting
in ktools bugzilla that should have been incorporated and released, yet
the last release is over a year and a half old. We would like to know what
your plans are for owl before we go and declare ourselves an actual fork.
We'd also like to share some of the ideas we're working on.
* Extending the capabilities of the perl side of owl
* hook perl into the main loop
* expose more owl internals to perl
* allow for message injection from perl
[More things go here, I'm sure.]
We look forward to hearing from you,
Those dirty owl hackers,
