The smartnarrow thing is intentional, but the fact that some users
don't like it is known and I believe geofft has a patch to make it
customizable I should take a look at.
As for the zsig thing, do you have a custom .owlconf with a weird
style or something? We do add that text to the zsig to deal with
people with improperly terminated color zsigs, but it should be
properly parsed by barnowl and not actually display.
