CONGRATULATIONS TO ALPHA PHI OMEGA'S FALL 1993 PLEDGE CLASS NAMESAKE:
    EARLE M. HERBERT !!!!!!!!

On July 17, 1993, the National Board of Direcrtors adopted the
    following resolution:

WHEREAS the following statements are true:

Brother Herbert has been a successful leader in many offices since his
initiation into Chi Chapter at the University of California at Los
Angeles in 1959. In addition to many undergraduate offices, after
graduation he served as chapter advisor and sectional representative,
and was elected to serve as the first and only Region X representative
until the 1980 National Convention, where the Fraternity called upon
his leadership to serve as National Vice President.

Brother Herbert's commitment to service, his devotion to the
fraternity, his desire to advance the Fraternity, his love of his
Brothers and his humility in character were widely recognized and by
acclamation he was called to serve as our National President in 1982
where he served with distinction for two terms. Many accomplishments
where acheived in those four short years, from Long range planning that
helps set the direction of leadership for the future, to the
International Fraternal connection that helped remind us of the
"overall purpose" of world wide peace.

As a result of his accomplishments, he has been well decorated since
his undergraduate chapter Distinguished Service Key, with many
Sectional awards, the Region X Distinguished Service Key, the National
Alumni Award, and the National Distinguished Service Key.

This Brother is a model of Leadership as he demonstrates appropriate
and effective leadership skills. As a problem solver, he is logical
and fair. As an orator, he commands great respect for his knowledge
and enthusiasm. As a facilitator, he is dynamic and inspirational.
Brother Herbert has been and is always an exceptional ambassador for
Alpha Phi Omega, not because he has a title but because he has
conviction to the ideals of our Fraternity.

If the purpose of the naming of a pledge class is to honor a person
whose ideas embody the spirit of our Fraternity and to recognize their
outstanding and significant contributions to the advancement of Alpha
Phi Omega, then it is without question that Brother Earle Herbert
    should be that namesake.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the National Board of Directors of Alpha
Phi Omega, in session July 17, 1993, hereby declares the Fall 1993
Pledge Class to be the Earle M. Herbert Pledge Class and sends
congratulations to Brother Earle M. Herbert.

Congrats may be mailed to him:
