Patrick Burke of the National Office asked me to share the following
information with APO-L. We talked about 9:30 a.m. Eastern Time today,
Tuesday, July 27. -- Jack McKenzie
* The National Office is safe and dry and in no danger of flooding.
Thank you to everybody who has expressed concern for the safety
and well-being of the National Office Staff and the building.
* The best way to help the flood victims is to contribute to and
otherwise work through the Red Cross, the Salvation Army, or other
such agencies. Contact your local offices of those organizations
for advice and guidance on how best to be of service.
[This, by the way, is consistent with the Fraternity's National
Emergency Response Plan developed by the National Service Committee
based on experiences with Hurricanes Hugo and Andrew and the
San Francisco earthquake.]
