Yes, we are trying to help in our own way, besides praying that is. On
July 21st and 22nd, Alpha Phi Omega Delta Chapter will be hosting a Blood
Drive here at Auburn University. Because of the severe flooding in the
Mississippi zones Alabama's Blood Supply is dangerously low.
The Blood Drive will be from 9:00am - 4:00pm both days. If you would like
to help or donate blood, WRITE! If you would like information on how you
can help your local area, which is probably also suffering, contact your
local American Red Cross Office. I'm sure they will be more than happy to
put you to work.
Some facts and figures that you might want to remember...
* There is a blood transfusion needed every 17 seconds in the US.
* Most states only have 9 Percent of its population donating blood.
* Blood shlef life is only 42 days.
All of these factors add up to needing more blood. There is no substitute.
Blood must come from a healthy donator.
Requirements:
* be at least 17 years old
* weigh at least 110 lbs.
* be willing to help.
