I recently attended a cpw and was wondering what people thought about having
conferences such as these without so structured a format. Is staff allowed
to deviate from the manual, or must they go through each thing step by step.
How do you feel about having a conference that would just be about chapter
problems and solutions without any lecture material at all? Possibly have
the larger group break into smaller groups depending on interest in a
subject. Subjects decided at the beginning of the conference or possibly
when registering. I was thinking that if we could have such meetings at
some of the larger chapters, we could reduce housing costs (if brothers
could stay with brothers from the hosting chapter). It may be beneficial if
these conferences be run by individual chapters rather than by nationals.
Are these ideas feasible? Is there some nationals' policy I'm unaware of
that would not allow such meetings? Would anybody be interested in
attending? Any input would be greatly appreciated. I was thin king of this
idea because I felt that I learned the most useful information during the
small informal group discussions.

PS. Aren't you glad I won't be posting about the cpw anymore?

PPS. If anyone on the list is in charge of setting up their cpw and wants
to know what it will be like, I'll be happy to share my experiences.

Ellen: Thanks for the advice, it was completely accurate.
