In my three years with Delta Chapter, I have never known anyone who was
offended by the term brother. I have never heard of anyone not pledging
because we refer to brothers as brothers.
I also know of no little sisters who object to being referred to as little
sisters.
Maybe we just have it too nice here at Delta, tucked away in Alabama, so far
from the frontline battlefields of the PC war. But don't get me wrong. We
have been referred to as sexist more than once (though I myself have been
called much worse). I guess that means that it's not just the name that
makes the person or the chapter.
As for my own personal beliefs, I think anyone who gets so upset by semantics
will do the chapter more harm than good. It's hard to do service when you're
arguing about trivialities.
