Hmm. Being less than half-way through hours would probably not get a
waiver from the brotherhood here. One example of one that was our
midquarters this spring. The blizzard that hit alot of people
cancelled 2 days of classes at tech and our midquarters was at the end
of the week. A majority of the brotherhood was willing to waive
requirements for pledges that were close to what they needed buy not
quite. As it turned out, I think that all of the pledges made
requirements (1/2 of the final vote in requirements). Basically, if
there is not a good reason, we would not waive requirements, although
it is 100% up to the brotherhood in that regard.
Our hours requirements are also alot stricter though, so it would be
harder for a pledge to only have 1/3 of them unless they really didn't
care.

I've only been a brother 2 semesters, and in that time, I have not
seen any pledges not get their requirements. Even with requirements,
pledges are still subject to a vote to get in, but if there are any of
the base requirements that are fulfilled, there would be a separate
special vote that would have to happen to even have the pledge come up
at final vote in, and if there was no good reason, the chances are
pretty slim that they would have the requirements waived.

Same deal here. If you are not in, you are welcome to come back and
try again the next semester, but you will be coming in just the same
as any other pledge.
