Howdy Brothers,
There is a life outside of Alpha Phi Omega, as I was so painfully
reminded, but some past personal events of this semester. We as a fraternity,
as a list, have bickered and even split in number by I imagine a great deal
over the social purpose this list and in fact our fraternity serves. We have
to keep something in mind, almost always. Our purposes have been set by
Frank Reed Horton, longer ago than I have been alive.
Friendship to all. This includes sexual orientation, skin color,
or religion. Leadership, which is perhaps the most difficult Cardnal Principle.
"Be a leader..." From my years of experience in Boy Scouting, the best and
perhaps only way to do this is through example. This is however, the most
difficult form of leadership, but one which means more than almost any other
because of the impression it can make on others. Service. To me, this is the
most important principle. I will only say that it is important for everyone to
put something back into the community, college, state, nation, or world, even if
you feel you have never taken anything from them.
Everyone have a wonderful and very safe summer. If our student accounts
are not disbanded, I will look forward to hearing and talking to everyone once
again this Fall.
Peace be with you,
Todd Clampffer
