Yes, APO-L lives! I'm wondering when we're going to start kicking
around NatCon proposals/info.
Alpha Phi Omega in the Philippines is a co-ed organization in the sense
that it is "Alpha Phi Omega International (Philippines) Fraternity and
Sorority, Incorporated" and while each campus may not have a co-ed
chapter, it may have both a fraternity and sorority chapter, and they do
things together, both as part of those chapters and more broadly.
Since the cultural reference was raised, I'd like to again raise the
issue of if we are going to expand internationally, we must be
culturally flexible. The question is "How do we do that while
maintaining who we are as an organization broadly (as we did in the
Philippines) without seeming imperialistic?". The Philippines had a
Greek letter culture before APO got there. APO in and of its name is
foreign elsewhere on that account, except Canada, the Caribbean, and
West Africa.
