Walking in Memory of John Grossi
Brothers,
I am walking to help the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute beat cancer. On Sunday, Sept. 17, I will join more than 6,500 walkers in the 18th annual Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. We have a fundraising goal of $4.5 million to help find better ways to treat and prevent cancer in children and adults.
I walk as a part of team that remembers John Grossi, a dear and treasured friend to many of us who lost his battle to cancer almost 2 and 1/2 years ago. The funds raised by our team support the social work programs that were instrumental in supporting John during his illness. This program also helps support the families surrounding cancer patients with counseling and financial assistance.
I hope you will support my efforts by contributing to my walk. Your generous gift enables Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to provide compassionate care while continuing its research to improve the chances of survival for cancer patients worldwide. By supporting my walk, you are helping to end cancer.
Cancer impacts all of our lives. I don't know anyone who can't name at least one person in their lives that has cancer change something. Each little bit adds up.
