Great efforts in relaying information, all! I believe many schools will
be accepting students, regardless of whether or not they are from their
state originally. (See info from Illinois State below.)
As was stated in a previous note, your best bet is probably to start with
your own school (if functioning), but if that's not possible, I'm sure
many of these schools would be willing to work with you.
Be sure to give this weekend - whether to a hurricane relief provider,
Jerry's kids... any or all as you are able. Need comes in all shapes and
sizes these days, and there are (sadly) too many opportunities for us to
help.
Be safe, be well and do good -

Illinois State To Admit Students Affected By Hurricane Katrina
Date: 9/1/05
Illinois State University will immediately open its doors to students at
colleges and universities affected by Hurricane Katrina, President Al
Bowman announced Thursday.
Following consultation with Provost John Presley and Academic Senate
Chair Lane Crothers, I have decided we must provide any and all resources
available at Illinois State to help these students, Bowman said. We have
staff members from Admissions, Financial Aid and Housing ready to provide
assistance.
Students interested in coming to Illinois State must be transferring from
areas affected by Hurricane Katrina and must be ready to attend classes
by September 9. All existing university admissions, housing and financial
aid policies will apply. Students or families seeking information may
e-mail Admissions Director Molly Arnold at molly.arnold@ilstu.edu or
call her at (309) 438-2343 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or
(309) 310-5674 after 4:30 p.m., CST.
General Information about the University can be found at
