Derek,
thank you for taking the time and effort to put this
together and keep everyone updated on whats going on.
I also would like to take this apportunity to
encourage everyone to consider a donation to the red
cross.
As of a few minutes ago CNN.com is
reporting that the city of New Orleans is going to be
without power for atleast a month, maybe longer. The
city is now being completely evacuated because of the
public health risk posed by flood waters. Tens of
thousands of people have been displaced, and are going
to need food, water, and shelter in the coming days.
As it has before the Red Cross has stepped up to help
these people. There are several ways to help out, but
the most effective right now is donating money to the
red cross's disaster relief fund:
http://www.redcross.org/
the direct link to their online donations page
https://www.redcross.org/donate/donation-form.asp
please consider a donation, since even 5 dollars helps
out (and its the price of a latte at starbucks..).
