Hello everyone -

Summer is imminent - are you still looking for a job? If so, check with
your local Scout councils to see if they still need staff for their camps.
See info below on how to find out about opportunities - keep in mind
that you don't have to work where you live! There are definitely camps
that still need staff.

If anyone knows of particular opportunities, please feel free to send
them to this list (I know of a couple, so if you are interested and can't
find something, please let me know).

If you are planning to work at a camp this summer, please take a
photo while you are there - ideally one that identifies you as a
Brother of Alpha Phi Omega, along with something that identifies
the camp (a camp sign or some such). Hard copy of photos should
be sent in to the APO National Office. Please feel free to send me
digital copies of your photos. We'll proudly display them in the
APO exhibit at the meetings we attend with the various youth
service organizations as we promote the Fraternity.

In service -
                                David O'Leary

Guidance for finding a Scout summer camp position

All camp programs need employees who are at least 21 and others who
are at least 18 years of age, and if they can't fill these positions, sometimes
important program areas can not be opened. The type of skills needed vary
widely, but most important is enjoyment of working with kids. Some training
is usually available.

Here are some links which can be used to find contact information for
various programs that may be hiring for either day camp or resident
(overnight) camp programs.

4-H, YMCA/YWCA, the Salvation Army, and Boys' and Girls' Clubs and
other organizations also have local camps for children. These positions
provide great opportunities to meet and work with kids and learn a lot, too,
including developing your leadership and management skills.

In addition to camp staff positions, some of these organizations also have
summer internship positions available. Contact local councils to find out
about opportunities.
