Folks, don't fall for this nonsense. While at first glance, bebo.com
appears to be legitimate, if you review their privacy policy, by
supposedly entering your personal contact information into Rebecca's
"online address book", you are, in fact, signing yourself up to
recieve spam. Yup, that's right, more junk mail in your inbox straight
from bebo.com that they claim they are doing as a service to you.

Read their privacy policy:

"Does Bebo sell my information to third parties?

As a matter of policy, we do not sell, rent or lend any of your
personal information to third parties other than in accordance with
this policy without your consent. However, the following describes
some of the ways that your personal information may be used in the
normal routine to provide our range of services to you.

Service Management. We use your personal information to provide the
services you request. We use your personal information to:
troubleshoot problems; measure consumer interest in our services,
inform you about offers, products, services, and updates; customize
your experience; detect and protect us against error, fraud and other
criminal activity; enforce our Terms of Use; and as otherwise
described to you at the time of collection.

You agree that we may use personal information about you to improve
our marketing and promotional efforts, to analyze site usage, improve
our content and product offerings, and customize the Site's content,
layout, and services. These uses improve the Site and better tailor it
to meet your needs, so as to provide you with a smooth, efficient,
safe and customized experience while using the Site.

You agree that we may use your personal information to contact you and
deliver information to you that, in some cases, are targeted to your
interests, such as targeted banner advertisements, administrative
notices, product offerings, and communications relevant to your use of
the Site. By accepting the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, you
expressly agree to receive this information. You may make changes to
your email notification preferences at any time."

True, according to this they won't sell your info to a third party.
However, they don't have to. According to the last paragraph, if you
agree to their Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, you give them
permission as a company to send you all the crap you can possibly
handle, and then some!

The moral of this story. If you want to share your contact information
with Rebecca Quodomine, I would recommend simply sending the
information directly to her, instead of going through some middle man.
I've been getting similar bebo.com emails now for several months, and
they all look exactly the same, and I have been highly suspicious of
them for quite a while now.

Cheers!
