To All Chapters of Alpha Phi Omega:

As you are aware, the 2004 National Convention is December 27-30, 2004. This is your chance to get involved! If there is a Brother in your Chapter that can belt out a tune, we want to hear from you. The opening ceremony committee is looking for an active Brother to sing the National Anthem at the opening ceremony. We will also be looking for singers for various other events throughout the evening.

All you need to do is send in an audition tape or CD before Monday, October 25th to the address below. Somewhere on the tape/CD, written and recorded, we need your name, phone number, e-mail address, mailing address, chapter name and college/university. We will contact the selected participants by October 31st . We look forward to hearing the wonderful talents that so many of our Brothers possess, so get those tapes in and good luck!

So you can’t sing? Here is another chance to get involved. We are going to create two inspirational slide shows for the National Convention. The first will be activities and service projects of APO Chapters and the second will feature a tribute to the Brothers and families serving in the military.

For Chapter activities and service projects, e-mail or mail photos (see addresses below) with the following required information: Chapter name, college/university, date(s) of the event,
a detailed description of the event (name of the event, activities that took place, who benefited from the event, total dollars raised, etc.).

For those Brothers serving in the military, please send in photos (see addresses below) and we will do our best to incorporate these into a memorable slide show. The pictures of these soldiers can be individual, with their troop, with their friends, with their family, in uniform, out of uniform, etc. Include information that you think is important – rank, where he/she is stationed, for how long, when they left, when they come home, what made them decide to join, family members, what they were doing before they joined – anything more you can think of would be very helpful. Even if these soldiers are not APO Brothers and they are a close friend or a family member, please send those pictures in as well.

We need all photos and information before Monday, November 1st. Please keep in mind that these pictures will not be returned. Doubles are best, but copies will be just fine. We prefer digital photos sent to the e-mail address below.

Thank you for your help in making the 2004 National Convention a success! See you in Denver!

LFS,
