Greetings Brothers!
The two Basic Skills courses, Presentation Skills and Facilitations Skills
will be available at the National Volunteer Conference. These are the
courses that are the first step to becoming an APO LEADS Presenter. There
are still some spaces left. Although open to all our alumni volunteers,
because of limited space, preference will be given to those wishing to
become presenters. We'll make an honest effort to accommodate everyone though.
The courses are 5 hours each beginning at 9am on Friday (PS) and Saturday
(FS). There will be a long lunch break each day to allow the course
participants to rejoin everyone else to hear the lunch time speakers.
If you are interested in becoming an APO LEADS Presenter please go to
www.leadership.apo.org and read the Presenter Development Guide (found by
clicking on Presenters in the left frame) *BEFORE* registering for the
course. Because of the limited space, you must pre-register for the
courses by contacting presdev.coordinator@leadership.apo.org. (Don't
forget to register for the conference as well www.nvc.apo.org). The
remaining spots will be assigned on a first come first serve basis. Once
the spots are full a waiting list will be formed in case of
cancellations. The sign-up and waiting lists can also be found on the LD site.
The next time these Basic Skills courses are scheduled to be available is
convention. Convention is also the next time the Content Training courses
will be available; the next step to being a Presenter. However, if a group
of qualified people can be formed and a trainer found, it would be possible
to hold any of the courses, Basic or Content, during the fall. Anyone
interested in coordinating such an event should also contact
presdev.coordinator@leadership.apo.org.
Please direct any questions about the APO LEADS training process to the APO
LEADS Presenter Development Coordinator
<presdev.coordinator@leadership.apo.org>.
See you in Independence!
In Brotherhood,
Chris
