Epsilon Lambda (Michigan Tech) had inducted female pledges as early as 1972
(if not before) - I'm not certain if they were submitted to Nationals prior
to 1976, though I'd be surprised if they didn't. They became the second
chapter to legally induct females after the bylaws were changed.
It's a bit ironic - Michigan Tech has always had relatively low numbers of
female students - even now there is only 1 woman for every 5 men. :)
