All chapters should keep records of their efforts to charter. Chapter
history doesn't start at chartering. The chapter where I initiated tells the
story of the Interfraternity council not approving our efforts to charter
until there was a football game between the brothers of a nearby chapter and
a team that included the head of the interfraternity council. But I would
have loved more than that.
A good chunk of this history should be found in chartering applications (at
least the way that chartering applications are done today). I don't know how
long Chartering applications are kept by the National Office, but especially
now that a good number of chapters are submitting them electronically, they
may have more...
