In the last two days, APO-L has been hit with a greater-than usual number of postings from non-subscribers containing suspicious attachments. These messages are trapped in a "review" state which I generally clear out on a daily basis.

With our current security settings, these have not posed a threat to us as subscribers, but could be an indication of increased or renewed worm/virus activity overall. As such, allow me to add a reminder:

Please be on the alert for messages bearing attachments that you don't expect, even from known friends and associates, espcecially with cryptic messages such as "Here's the file", "Per your request", and so on. Delete said attachments wihtout opening them, and be sure to update your anti-virus software on a regular (if not automatic) basis. If you get an e-mail with an attachment supposedly coming from APO-L, delete it at once. APO-L does NOT send attachments, and any such message is undoubtably a fake.

Oh, and have a nice day!

Fraternally,
