On behalf of Region III and Section 79, I am pleased to welcome the new Brothers of the Delta Phi Chapter of Alpha Phi Omega on the campus of Johnson C. Smith who rechartered the chapter, the first at a Historically Black College or University, Sunday afternoon, February 29. The chapter had been inactive since the mid-90s.
The men and women at Johnson C. Smith put a nearly 18 months of hard work into this momentous occasion and were welcomed into our fraternity by the brothers of Section 79, the brothers of Alpha Epsilon Upsilon at Barton College, some
Delta Phi alum, several other Charlotte-area alumni, representatives of
the Baltimore Area Alumni Association, Section 77 Staff in South Carolina, and
Julie Moore, Alumni/Internal Volunteer Development Program Director.
Special thanks to the brothers of Sigma Upsilon, Sigma Rho, Kappa Theta and
Tau Beta who participated in the ceremony and who donated ritual equipment
for future Delta Phi rituals.
