keep in touch with my friends in VIII, where I am an alum.

> 2. Which APO region will you spend the holidays in? VI. My fiancee and I
are taking a close friend out for her birthday to see "The Lion King" in
downtown Chicago on New Year's Eve. Also, we have an unending barrage of
holidays with my fiancee's graduation, my birthday, Hanukkah and Christmas
parties, holiday performances with my choir, etc. We can't leave Chicago
this Winter Break.

had ours in October.

joke because every time Regionals or Sectionals come up, I have a cousin
being Bar or Bat Mitzvahed ;-) But there's still hope for me to attend the
first ever APOIllinois Trisectional Conference in April...
As for Region VIII, I'm definitely going to be there MLK Weekend in
January. (Hopefully, I won't be dragged into any embarrassing performances
for the Friday night activity like I was in Kirksville for 2002...Oh,
wait! I'm saved. I'll be too busy in APO LEADS sessions ;-)

To quote someone on the National Board (I can't remember if it was Brant
Warrick or Maggie Katz who started this, but same difference... ;-), "APO
is definitely a habit. We only work at our jobs to financially support our
habit." Right now, I'm a poor grad student and an underpaid substitute
teacher, but once I get bumped up to a job with a more steady income
(teaching my own classes in high school), I might extend my habit to visit
I, II, and IV for Regionals every now and then. But for now, I still have
extensive plans to visit the Illinois/Missouri/Arkansas contingency during
several weekends next semester ;-)

Eric Field

PS. How do we get on APO-SOC?
