The silver ink on dark maroon job was mine, circa 2003 I think? I also
attempted to do a silver ink over black ink (two set ups with time to dry
in between) on white stock last year, and never quite got it to work the
way I envisioned it. My recollection is that the metallic inks are stiffer
than non-metallics and require more working on the ink plate before they'll
behave properly. Can't speak to the gold, but the silver ink in the shop is
still perfectly useable.

Hope that helps!
