ok. a few quick sentences for now

as ellen' email said, non-profits are not allowed to compete with
businesses, except for internal use or in narrow external ways, and
even there, special accounting and reporting is needed

the reason is that it's unfair. the tax savings, etc., that
non-profits get are much greater than the profit margins of typical
businesses. if it was allowed, businesses could not compete with=20
non-profits

as ellen mentioned, personal use is allowed by members of some
non-profits in some circumstances, if sales taxes are paid, etc, but
not for third parties, e.g printing wedding invitations or business
cards for others, individual or business

   Hi Len,
  =20
Thanks for providing this information to everyone. I personally found t=
he
   last two emails helpful.
  =20
Would it be possible for you to let us know why it's not allowed? a quic=
k
description like "because it's something you can go to a business for an=
d the
requestor is an individual/business" (or whatever the reason actually is=
)
would be great. A really quick description of why you recommend turning=
 away
a job would both help ops learn why we can or can't do something, which =
would
make each of us better at publicizing the press services to the correct
audiences. It would also help those policy-minded actives with crafting=
 a
good policy on the chapter providing fee-based services.
  =20
Nothing long or time-intensive or even thorough -- just a quick sentence=
 that
would help your brothers understand your no/maybe recommendation.
