I, too, suspected the multiple leads to be a problem...in the future I
will definitely try harder to set my lines to a width that actually
exists.
when i have to use two leads 'stead on one, i try to get lengths about
two-third and one-third, and alternate the breaks from one side to another
much better than halves, which lines the breaks line up, up the middle
of the block
i also try and distribute the full width single leads throughout the
block

I didn't know we had blue paper spacers! cool.
except they expand when they get solvent on them.
i use them rarely and as a last resort
