AXAA BLOOD DONATION AND DINNER TRIP: Tuesday, September 6, 1994

This is right after the Labor Day Weekend. If you are eligible to
donate, PLEASE COME. The nations blood supply tends to be lower during
summer, and frequently drops to critical levels around the holiday
weekend. If you aren't eligible to donate, PLEASE COME for dinner
anyway. Lots of people is a good thing.

I realize that this is the 2nd night of Rosh Hashanah, in fact I won't be
there because I'll be visiting my parents for the holiday. I could have
switch the blood drive to the previous week without messing up people's
donor schedules; however, enough people function on autopilot that I
decided not to change the date. Incidently, the Red Cross will let you
donate every 8 weeks, but the recommend that you only donate 5 times a
year not the 6 that you can fit in. When I talked people about the date
issue, I discover a number of people didn't know that.

The September 6 First Tuesday of Every Odd Month Blood Donation and
Dinner Trip will congregate at the Red Cross donor site in Burlington,
MA. This donor center is open from 2pm to 8 pm on Tuesdays. If you are
planning on giving blood, please arrive by 7 pm so we can eat by a not
too unreasonable hour. There should be appoint slots reserved for
MIT-APO between 6 and 7.

Please RSVP to John Kohl(jtk@atria.com) as he'll be coordinating rides
for those who need them and making sure nobody gets left behind when the
group heads for dinner.
