Officers' reports:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SVP (Barbara): [written report] I haven't gotten any definite com-
mitments out of project sites but the National Braille Press and
Sojourner House are interested. Please take messages from the
office answering machine for me.
I've got Andy, Gilbert, and Elth to PC City Days and open
projects. Kevin , Dave, Hannah, and Ezra took over Book Ex-
change, President's Reception, Reg. Day, and Chapter Weekend
I respectively. Thanks too all of them. But I still need someone
to PC the writing requirement project and other projects dur-
ing the term, as well as looking into the possibilites of halloween
projects.
Thanks to those who filled out my survey. It's still in
/mit/apo/Officers/SVP/questionnaire.txt if you missed it.
I want the information on the SVP files verified, recorded online,
and printed out to be put into file again. Would any one be able
to help or have any other ideas?
Meeting: The SVP files are not something that need to be shared and
you need a phone next to a computer on the net to enjoy the
benefit of having them on-line. It's more important to update
them.
AVP (Gilbert): Will clean up APO locker soon.
Treasurer (Kevin): I've closed the books for my term and am ready
to pass things off to Henning. We were in the red last term but
only by $25. That's after we bought a fridge, had $103 stolen,
and spent money on resurrecting siklscreening.
ASC (Traci): [written report] I'll deliver the twine, tape, and garbage
bags that have been requested shortly. Email me other requests
if any. Thanks to those who helped when the floor was waxed.
I'll arrange some cleaning/organizing party when I come back
(after the term starts.)
Committee reports:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kevin (Book Exchange): We have a committee: Amy (publicity),
Jeff (manpower), and Lily (treasurer). We had a meeting and
interested in keeping the office open for some set hours before
and after book exchange to make dropping off books and picking
up checks more convenient. It will open Reg Day (9/6) and run
through 9/13. Sell books!
Kate (Press-Op): We have blanket wash now. Nothing going on with
flammable cabinet though.
Old/New Business:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
MVP (Dave): Put pledge manual first draft on coffee table and
/mit/apo/Manuals/Pledgemanual/manual.{tex,dvi,ps}. Please
read it and give me opinions no later than Monday night. Need
help with poster design, distribution (got Ping), drop poster
design (got Bridget), and IC panel. Open meetings will be tra-
ditional but open to change.
Bridget: Ask the historian to help choose and convert pictures to
slides.
Ezra: Do a rehearsal for the open meetings.
Yale: Write down a list of topics that need covered and make sure
that they are covered at rehearsal.
Kate: Activities Midway is on 8/30. Have slide show ready by then?
Decide what to give away, and how many, what other things to
bring [like WUAPO's, APOC's]. Decide whom you want to be
there to do what specific tasks. Think about the board behind
the desk.
MVP (Dave): Will need to think about pledge meetings' contents and
how to keep pledges in touch. Other things: calling prospectives
and have brothers recruit; push big brother/little brother pro-
gram around time of open meetings. Let me know if you want
or don't want to be big brothers.
Kate: Dave can't make Pledge Term Review Meeting on 12/3. Let's
propose to move it to Sunday 12/4 2-6pm. I'll bring it up at
chapter meeting. We might even add a service project on Sat.
12/3.
Announcements:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ezra: Chapter Weekend I will be "Mass Jam" at a scout camp prob-
ably at Barnstable (1.5 hrs away) in October. We'll create a
scout related activity.
Joe: "Scout related activites" include registration, judging events, and
keeping scores.
Yale: Ask brothers from elsewhere (like mid-west, the south) to help
think of scouting events. Science projects won't be liked. The
event needs to last for about 20 minutes but be repeated 50
times. Ask the National what material they have, what need
and need not to bring, and how much funding we have.
PFTGOTO:
~~~~~~~
Barbara: Thanks to all my PC's.
Kevin: I was going to organize a Red Sox outing, but Red Sox is
going on strike! Come see my "Rising of the Moon" at 8pm on
Monday at Middle East - only $5. Please leave at intermission
because the second play sucks.
Kate: I'm leaving on Friday for a week-long vacation! Thanks for
coming.
