We interrupt your regular Friday Night Dinner trip schedule to
bring you the following announcement ....

Now that the 00's have started, it's time to RELIVE THE SIXTIES!!!
Join me in a combination dinner trip/movie night where we'll all
get together and go see Sunday's LSC presentation of Yellow
Submarine----one of the few really classic movies that capture the look
and feel of the psychedelic, hippie 1960s. (You know, that weird decade
that happened about ten years before most of you were even born! :)
This is the remastered version, so not even I (alan) have seen it in
this condition or in the movies.
Meet at the APO Office at 5pm for dinner, LSC at 6:30pm for movie
Door prizes will be awarded to two lucky movie attendees. (Courtesy
of an alum who like to buy stuff but is sick of accumalating kruft :)

***REASON why YOU really really want to see this movie!!!!!!***
MEET the Blue Meanie! And "Hand". And those tall guys with mouths in
their stomachs. (ugh!)
LISTEN to The Beatles (You know them. Paul McCartney's band before
Wings....which was his band before ... :)
DISCOVER how come Ringo's "got a hole in me pocket"
BE AMAZED at the sea of holes
WATCH an actual, live (well, very animated) "nowhere man"
SEE people so strangely dressed that even Carolyn wouldn't stand out! :)
UNDERSTAND why "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" is supposedly about LSD!
WIN fabulous door prizes!!!! (Well, two very nice prizes. And they're
both cool and Yellow Submarine related even!!!) (*)
HAVE a great evening with lots of brothers and pledges and friends.
And even an alum (or more) who may have even been alive when this
movie came out the first time.
LSC movies are always best served up in groups, so the more people who
come, the better time we'll all have.
SEE a great (classic, though psychedelic) film that reallys shows what
can do with animation. (This one would never work with live action.
The colors and artstyle really get across the feel of the sixties!)

FOOTNOTES
(*) Prizes will be handed out by random draw among those who make
it to the movie. If you really want to be included but really can't
make the movie, e-mail me (ameisler@opal.tufts.edu) and I'll make
sure you get a chance. But if you've never seen Yellow Submarine,
the door prizes probably won't make sense. (And they're not edible :)
(*)I know 6:30 is earlier many of you are used to going to LSC movies,
but back when they were well atteneded, you used to have to get there
early to get a seat. And this way we have a whole half-hour to sit,
and talk and have fun and make fun of the refreshments people and
make sure we can all sit together, and it'll take at least ten minutes
for us all to pick a spot anyway and ...well, you get the picture :)
