Officers' reports:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SVP (Sam): We have service. We had service at the Greater Boston
Food Bank this past weekend--thanks to Sara Pickett for being
the PC. This coming weekend is our Chapter Weekend I with
WPI at Camp Nobscot [AC: not Nobscott or Knobscott as I
had previously spelled it]. We will destroy a cabin. Come along,
it'll be fun. I called and they said we'll get an industrial-size
kitchen. Sign up! Everyone is invited. Carolyn is Food PC.
The weekend after CWI is the Harvard-MIT Math Tournament,
PC'd by Aaron. Go to the web page mentioned in his e-mail to
get a job for that Saturday. They need people for proctoring,
but for that they also need your individual names. Make sure to
talk to Aaron. CASPAR might happen; more information will
come later. Big Screw will happen later.
MVP (Ann Marie): We have 16 pledges, 15 from Friday night plus
Eric Downes. A couple of people will pledge soon. Read and
sign the list of membership requirements. Give them to me and
your checks to Oscar at the same time. The first pledge meeting
will be tomorrow at 9 pm in the office.
FVP (Joe): Wednesday night at 7:30 pm is the Black Morbid Study
Break, PC'd by Laura. Eat leftover Valentine's Day candy. I
cannot PC it because I'm going out of town and won't be back
until later in the week. On February 26, Lokie's PC'ing Pledge
Article Meal. We'll get together wherever to eat and write ar-
ticles for the APOc. It'll be fun and great. Also, my co-PC for
Steak Fry has commitments, so I would like for somebody to
help me figure out the stuff we need for Steak Fry.
Treasurer (Oscar): Pay your dues or fees by the end of the meet-
ing to be active. Pay at any point during the term to become
active, although you won't necessarily be able to vote at PCR
depending on how late you pay. Pledge and brother dues are
$20, while elevation fees are $25.
AC (Ian): I printed out copies of the bylaws, our Robert's Rules,
some RFP's, and some Brotherhood Requirements. After meet-
ing with the mailing list committee, the mailing lists apo-news
and apo-announce have been restructured--brothers, pledges,
and some other people are on apo-news, and anyone can be
on apo-announce. apo-news will stay about the same, while
apo-announce will receive weekly traffic in the form of a digest
written by me.
President (Carolyn): Don't send e-mail to apo-announce.
APOcEd (Nitin): I got enough material for the first APOc. It should
be out by the end of this week.
OM (David): We have an office. I'm the Office Manager. I'm trying
to manage it.
PubDir (Lokie): The drop posters from hell were paid for. I haven't
heard much from customers of late. Does anyone have any sug-
gestions for our Infinite Corridor Board? I will be attacking it
soon.
Historian (Jake): There's a really nice photo of us from last Initia-
tion. Copies cost $8 each, so sign up if you want one. Thanks
to Ari for dealing with the photo. Pictures were taken at the
pledge ceremony and at the food bank project.
Advisory Comm. Chair (Ellen): I will be taking a couple of road
trips next month. If you are interested, come talk to me. March
4 will be the rechartering of Stevenson Institute of Technology,
and March 25 will be the Section 97 Conference in New York
City, which I'll most likely attend.
President (Carolyn): The chair positions of Alumni Liaison, Ride
Board Chair, Chapter Book Chair, and Transport Chair need to
be filled. If you are interested, come talk to me. The silkscreen-
ing room is being dealt with.
Committee reports:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
WPI Conclave (Katie, Jo, and Mike): We're hosting Concolave
this spring at WPI the weekend from March 31 to April 2. Our
theme is "Service and Our Fountain of Youth." Jo designed the
alphabet blocks for the nifty T-shirts.
On Friday night at 8 pm there will be fellowship in the form of a
return to your youth, featuring dodge ball, red rover, Candyland,
and the like. Breakfast will happen early Saturday morning,
followed by a service project. Next is a two-hour pizza lunch.
The sectional business meeting overlaps with the end of lunch
and the first round of workshops to allow those attending the
meeting to go to workshops as well. Workshops include Tae-Bo
and juggling as well as traditional ones such as membership and
service. The banquet will have a happy [un-?]birthday theme.
There will be a contest to make your own centerpiece at each
of the banquet tables, with a prize for the winners. The male a
cappella group at WPI, Simple Harmonic Motion, will sing for
us. There will be a dance following.
We can pick you up at the train station in Worcester, and some
of us live in Somerville, so don't let transportation be an issue
for you. The registration fee is $30, with $6 extra for the T-shirt.
March 4 is the registration deadline; see our web page for more
information. If you have any dietary restrictions, let us know in
advance.
President (Carolyn): Go to Conclave. It's cool. Really.
Coke Comm. (Emily): (channelled by Sara P.) There is coke.
Conclave Comm. (Emily): (channelled by Sara P.) Our first meeting
is next Tuesday at 7:00 pm before the ExecComm meeting. [No
location was specified]
Book Ex (Emily): (channelled by Sara P.) Book Ex pickup is next
week. See Ari for details. [E-mail will be sent out?]
Old Business:

[Nitin was installed as APOcEd.]
New Business:

Silkscreening Room:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
President (Carolyn): There was confusion about the control over
the silkscreening room. We noticed this four days before the
room allocation appeals were due to ASA. At 6 pm tomorrow
night I will be meeting with the people from the other groups
involved along with Ted Johnson to discuss what's happening
with it. If anyone is interested in getting involved or in dealing,
I encourage you to come talk to me.
Pledge Class Namesake:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
President (Carolyn): Each pledge class has its own namesake. In
the fall, Nationals picks the namesake, but we get to pick our
own for the spring.
[Namesake selected. Results to be disclosed later.]
Seventy-fifth Anniversary:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Advisory Comm. Chair (Ellen): This is the 75th anniversary year
of the national fraternity. A number of events are scheduled
to occur across the year. One thing they're doing is "75 for the
75th," i.e. have everyone do something with the number 75, be it
75th service hours, 75 dollars, 75 pledges, etc. They'll compile a
display or record of all the stuff the chapters do that are related
to 75 to be presented at the National Convention.
President (Carolyn): It was suggested that we each fold 75 cranes,
which would put us well beyond the traditional thousand cranes.
Talk to me if you have ideas.
Yevgeniya: Seventy-five hats for Carolyn!
Announcements:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SVP (Sam): Chapter Weekend is this weekend. Tell me if you want
to come and tell lots of people to come.
Laura: (channelled by Carolyn) Black Morbid Study Break is Wednes-
day.
Alan: On Sunday there will be a dinner trip at 5:00 pm followed by a
viewing of "Yellow Submarine." There'll be door prizes related
to the movie.
Advisory Comm. Chair (Ellen): There'll be a celebration at
LaFayette College the weekend of July 14. Friday night will
be a historic tour, and Saturday will include a team-building
workshop, future planning [?], and a banquet. More details to
come later. I'm going, and people should come. It's cool. It's
only an hour and a half outside of New York.
PFTGOTO:
~~~~~~~
Sam: Structural Analysis. Pppppphhhhhht.
Yevgeniya: Tomorrow at 8 pm there will be an LSC free sneak preview
of Boiler Room.
Lizzie: I wish I were doing structural analysis.
Foley: Winter happened. I have a big pickup truck. I bought gravel in
case it got stuck [in the snow/ice/wintry mix]. Well, it did get
stuck, and I had to use it. Now there's gravel on the back of my
pickup truck, a whole 50 pounds of it. Does anyone want it?
Oscar: We should get 75 bottles of beer on the wall.
Yevgeniya: We should get 75 bottles of milk and cookies.
SVP (Sam): Conclave rocks. Go.
Andy: Semi-Formal Formal is March 11. Get psyched.
President (Carolyn): Remind me not to get a room next to a Concert
Band rehearsal next time.
Ann Marie: Come to Chapter Weekend I.
